There are certain books that you just can’t help but get excited about, and this was definitely one of them for me. From when I first saw its cover revealed several months ago, to the excitement and buzz on the run up to its launch I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. And it didn’t fail to meet and exceed my expectations.

Em Lynas’ You Can’t Make Me Go To Witch School is easily one of the best books i’ve read this year and I couldn’t put it down until I’d finished. (I didn’t even pop to the loo!) I think this is just the start of what this author has to offer and I get the feeling we’ll be seeing big things off her as this hilarious series continues to grow.

So whats it about you may ask ….

Well, not everyone wants to be a witch and Daisy Wart is definitely one of those few! She is extremely  unhappy to be sent to witch school, dumped off by her Granny and left to the mercy of a bunch of batty witches. Because Daisy is ac-chew-ally an actress who needs to show everyone her Bottom for the big performance, but if she’s got any chance of escaping Toadspit Towers School then she’s going to need a plan… or possibly a few. Filled with Vernons, Oddbod’s and some singing too, she’s in for a few surprises that even her elbows can’t predict!

Em Lynas’ gives the reader an original take on a witch school filled with comedy and fun at every turn. Full of characters you can’t help but love and laugh out loud moments you just can’t wait to share. Children and adults alike will love this magical tale that will leave you eager for the next instalment.

I give it 5 toads out of 5
